exchange (DEX) aggregator built by 0x, designed to help users get

trading volume, Matcha makes crypto trading simple, seamless, and
user-focused.We're building a greenfield mobile app from scratch -
and we're looking for a Mobile React Native Engineering Lead to own
it.As our first mobile engineer, you'll play a foundational role in
defining and building the future of Matcha on mobile. This is a
hands-on role where you'll work closely with product, design, and
engineering leadership to shape the app's architecture, own key
technical decisions, and eventually build and lead a mobile
engineering team.If you're passionate about crypto, love crafting
beautiful user experiences, and want to own a product end-to-end,
we'd love to hear from you.Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development of our new React Native mobile
app for iOS and Android.
- Design and implement app architecture, state management, and
mobile-specific infrastructure (e.g., release pipelines, telemetry,
CI/CD).
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to
build seamless, intuitive, and performant DeFi experiences.
- Own the mobile user experience and bring complex features
(e.g., trading, signing, wallet connectivity) to life.
- Maintain a high bar for code quality, testing, and performance
through code reviews and technical mentorship.
- Stay current with React Native and web3 best practices, tools,
and community trends to continuously improve the app.
- Define long-term technical direction for mobile and contribute
to hiring and onboarding future mobile engineers.Required
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in mobile development, with deep
expertise in React Native and mobile application architecture.
- Proven track record of owning and delivering complex mobile
projects - ideally products launched from scratch.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React Native CLI & Expo, and
native modules (Objective-C, Swift, Java, Kotlin).
- Experience integrating mobile apps with REST and GraphQL
APIs.
- Familiarity with state management libraries like Zustand, MobX,
Redux, or Recoil.
- Deep understanding of mobile performance optimization,
profiling, and debugging tools.
- Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines and app distribution
through the App Store and Google Play.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a remote,
async-friendly environment.
- Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced, product-led
environment.
- Passion for DeFi, open finance, and building tools that empower
users.Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience developing fully native iOS or Android apps
(Objective-C, Swift, Kotlin, or Java).
- Experience working with crypto wallets (e.g., MetaMask,
WalletConnect, Rabby) and web3 connectivity on mobile.
- Strong understanding of mobile security best practices,
especially in a crypto context.
- Experience with product analytics, user telemetry, and
experimentation on mobile (e.g., A/B testing, feature flags).
- Familiarity with modern product development tools like GitHub,
Slack, Notion, and Linear.Benefits
- The base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $230,000 +
equity + ZRX tokens + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is
determined by job-related skills, experience, location, business
needs, and candidate preferences between the different compensation
elements.
