POSITION SUMMARY: The Workforce Development Specialist position is part of the Integration Department, with a focus on the Employment initiative. The staff member in this role will provide employment services to participants by conducting outreach to prospective employers, providing information on opportunities to the team and the participants, and coordinating with the Grants & Partnership Coordinator to develop deeper engagement of employers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for cultivating partnerships with employers and staffing agencies to secure immediate job placements for program participantsEducate employers about refugee employment and work authorizationRecord and communicate all potential job opportunities and updates to the teamResearch job opportunities and employers related to specific fields of workAttend job fairs or community events related to potential employment opportunitiesUpdate and maintain WRS systems (Dynamics, Teams, case notes, etc.)Follow Outreach guidelines regarding branding and communication history when contacting employersConnect ongoing employers and/or partners to Grants & Partnership CoordinatorProvide referrals for participants to other programs and services as neededParticipate in staff meetings and other staff development opportunitiesProvide case management support: Resume creation, job applications and interview preparationKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Alignment with WRS core values of serve, drive, careAbility to speak clearly and comfortably on the phone with employers and participantsKnowledge of outreach and job development strategies for the current labor marketStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to utilize communication over internet tools such as Zoom and other programsHighly self-motivated and able to take initiativeREQUIREMENTS:Mature and personal Christian faithCommitted to the mission, vision, and values of World ReliefDesire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communitiesCross-cultural experienceFluency in written and spoken EnglishPHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
