Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience programming in C++. Experience architecting and developing distributed systems. Experience with software design and architecture. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields. 2 years of experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C, Python, Objective C, JavaScript, or Go. 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$211,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Design, implement, and productionize features for the Cloud Admission Controller (CloudAC) to manage the scalable capacity model for Google Compute Engine (GCE). Engineer smarter admission control mechanisms and optimization strategies to ensure the most efficient utilization of infrastructure, directly impacting cost and performance. Develop and integrate features to support an increasingly complex hardware fleet, including managing specific requirements for various accelerators such as TPUs and GPUs. Innovate architectural solutions to address scale growth as the demand for computing resources continues to expand. Lead project priorities for small-to-moderate complexity initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional partners to gather requirements and define technical roadmaps.
