If you want to do the most impactful work of your career, this is where to do it. $250,000 - $300,000 Full-time / Onsite (5 days/week) About The Role We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer - Platform , to create interfaces and flows for new verticals at Mochi Health. You will work directly with ex-founders, high-frequency traders, rocket engineers in the "skunkworks project" within Mochi to take Mochi from an obesity health platform to a world-class health platform . You'll play a key role in crafting best-in-class web and mobile experiences that delight both customers and providers. From launching bold new features to rapidly experimenting with fresh verticals, you'll help shape what's next for Mochi Health. This role is perfect for someone who is able to be scrappy in the world of Web and Mobile development, while having good architectural and design sense to build effectively. What You'll Do Lead the development, optimization and expansion of our core backend services. (Typescript/Python) Drive best practices in performance, security, and scalability as we scale rapidly over the next 6/12 months. Collaborate closely with Product, Design and Frontend teams to deliver seamless, intuitive user experiences. Own key architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and elevating back-end excellence across the company. Build out data-driven services and systems to bolster the customer experience. Influence engineering culture, fostering innovation and technical ownership within the team. Who You Are Startup mindset: you thrive in fast-moving environments, take ownership, and love solving problems at scale. 7 years of back-end development experience, with deep expertise with Typescript/Python. Experience leading technical initiatives and shipping scalable, high-performance systems to support web and mobile applications. Strong knowledge of modern back-end tooling. (ESLint, CI/CD pipelines) Fluent in bash scripting and linux/unix commands A passion for creating fast, optimised and elegant solutions to difficult problems. Expertise with AI code generation tools Bonus: Experience with WebSockets, real-time data, compiled code languages, or healthcare-related applications. It's designed for deep work and casual collaboration The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $250,000 to $300,000, in addition to equity and benefits.
