Walmart Inc., a leader in global retail, is looking for an experienced Software Engineer III, Android, to join our IT & Cybersecurity team. This role is crucial for developing and enhancing mobile applications that serve millions of our customers globally. The candidate will be immersed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where they will work on a range of challenging projects designed to improve the shopping experience for our vast customer base. This position requires expertise in Android development, a keen understanding of mobile technologies, and the ability to work collaboratively in a large-scale development environment. Design, develop, and maintain advanced applications for the Android platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization. Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency. Proficient in Kotlin and Java for Android. Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, and other necessary tools. Strong understanding of the full mobile development life cycle. Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services. Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token. Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
