Position Overview:Under the the general supervision of the Pharmacy Director, the Manager of Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the supervision and management of daily pharmacy operations and activities in a decentralized Pharmacy Department serving 556 acute care beds. - Patient population includes adult and pediatric oncology (including adult Bone Marrow Transplantation), cardiology, neurologic, pediatric, OB/GYN, and orthopedic patients. - The scope of the position includes assuring the delivery of quality patient care through implementation and maintenance of medication preparation and distribution services; assuring effective supervision, staff development, appropriate staffing and promoting positive employee and guest relations; establishing and maintaining effective communication lines with Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical Staff, Materials Management, Information Systems, Finance and other outside entities within Sutter Health; assuring integration of Pharmacy activities and objectives within the Pharmacy Department through development and implementation of policies & procedures; and assuring well organized work flow, maintaining labor productivity and financial data within the Pharmacy Department. -Qualifications: -Education:Masters -of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a recognized Pharmacy school. Completion of a Pharmacy Residency preferred. Current California Pharmacy License with necessary continuing education to assure continued licensure. - Experience:

• Experience demonstrating leadership and managerial capabilities.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in communicating and dealing with personnel is desired.
• A minimum of 3 years acute care hospital experience is required.
• A minimum of 2 years previous supervisory experience is required.Knowledge:
• Education in management and supervision, as would be acquired through seminar attendance.
• Hospital sponsored Supervisory/Management development programs or college course work is desired.
• Possesses knowledge and has expertise in all aspects of hospital pharmacy operations including current laws and regulation, basic clinical skills, and being abreast of new developments in drug therapy, technology and current healthcare issues. -Special Skills/Equipment:

• Knowledge of cost accounting principles, computer technology and spreadsheets is required.
