Installer (Apprentice/Lower-Level) Are you a hands-on individual
with a foundational knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, ready to
take the next step in a professional environment? We are looking
for a dedicated Commercial Ductwork & HVAC Equipment Installer to
join our field team, specializing in the essential mechanics of
modern commercial and industrial buildings. If you're skilled with
metal, can read a plan, and take pride in delivering code-compliant
work, we want to hear from you! Position Overview The Installer is
responsible for the safe and professional field installation of
commercial duct systems and the setting of various HVAC equipment.
This role is foundational to our projects, requiring proficiency in
sheet metal assembly, precise field installation, basic rigging
support, and strict adherence to mechanical codes. You will be a
key player, coordinating daily with foremen, fabrication leads, and
project managers to bring complex mechanical designs to life. Key
Responsibilities ? Ductwork & Sheet Metal Installation Install
diverse commercial duct systems, including rectangular, spiral,
welded, double-wall, and flexible ductwork, ensuring all
installations meet project plans and local codes. Perform essential
field modifications, measuring, cutting, and fitting duct to handle
unique installation challenges. Mount all supporting components,
including hangers, seismic bracing, fire/smoke dampers, access
panels, and insulation assemblies. Liaise closely with the
fabrication shop to ensure accurate material delivery and
communicate necessary revisions. ?? Equipment & Ventilation Setting
Set, level, and install HVAC units, including rooftop units (RTUs),
split systems, fan coils, exhaust fans, and energy recovery
ventilators (ERVs). Assist with rigging planning and execution for
safe and efficient crane or lift operations. Install necessary
auxiliary components such as drains, line sets, refrigerant piping,
and roof curbs (on-the-job training provided for specific
components if needed). Mount final components like grilles,
registers, louvers, and vibration isolation hardware. General Work
& Professionalism Read and interpret complex mechanical drawings,
specifications, and submittals accurately. Maintain open
communication with site leadership regarding material needs and
field changes. Uphold the highest standards of safety per
manufacturer specifications and local building codes (e.g., CMC,
Title 24). Ensure a clean and safe worksite and foster positive
relationships with clients and other trades. Skills &
Qualifications Must-Haves (Required) Experience: Minimum of 2 years
of hands-on experience in commercial sheet metal ductwork and/or
HVAC equipment installation. Technical Literacy: Proven ability to
read blueprints/plans, lay out work, and perform accurate field
measurements. Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the safe use of standard
sheet metal tools, power tools, and operation of basic lifts (e.g.,
scissor lifts). Work Requirements: Valid driver’s license and
physical ability to work safely on ladders, at heights, and on
commercial rooftops. Code Knowledge: Familiarity with the
California Mechanical Code (CMC) and Title 24 energy efficiency
requirements is a significant advantage. Career Accelerators
(Preferred) Certification: Current EPA 608 Certification (Universal
is highly valued). Safety Training: Active OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
Certification. Refrigeration Skills: Experience with brazing and
pressure testing refrigerant piping or working with walk-in
refrigeration units. Specialized Experience: Background in complex
