Staff Power Electrical Engineer will participate in all aspects of
the development and test of avionics hardware for E-Space
satellites. The ideal candidate has 10 years of experience in power
electronics design including schematic capture, PCB layout, and
testing. This position will report to the Director of Electrical
Engineering and will work closely with the Electrical, Software,
and Systems Engineering teams. The successful candidate will be
based in our Saratoga, CA office. What you’ll be doing: Own the
development of a spacecraft solar-battery charging system from
clean sheet to flight. Develop and implement PCBA requirements,
use-cases, and system integration. Schematic capture and PCBA
layout for solar power, voltage regulation, load management, fault
protection, power transmission, telemetry, and other circuits using
Altium Designer. Circuit analysis including power related, SWaP,
tolerance, and reliability related. PCBA design verification
testing, qualification testing, and system integration testing.
Lead design reviews for inter-disciplinary audiences. Manufacturing
and flight support as needed. What you bring to this role: Bachelor
of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
or equivalent. 10 years of experience in power electronics design
including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testing. Expertise in
solar power, voltage regulation, load management, fault protection,
power transmission, analog instrumentation, and digital circuits.
Skilled at schematic capture and layout of complex PCBAs. Skilled
at performing circuit analyses in SPICE and Excel. Proficiency with
basic electronic lab equipment such as power supplies,
oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, soldering iron, etc.
Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environment. Bonus points
for the following: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering,
Computer Engineering, or equivalent. Experience designing for space
environments including radiation impacts and mitigation.
Proficiencywith Altium Designer. Experience designing rigid-flex
PCBs and general electro-mechanical design familiarity. FPGA design
skills. Scripting skills in Python, Tcl, etc. This is a full time,
exempt position, based out of our Saratoga office. The target base
pay for this position is $120,000 - $200,000 annually. The total
compensation packaged will be determined by various factors such as
your relevant job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We are
redefining how satellites are designed, manufactured and used—so
we’re looking for candidates with passion, deep knowledge and
direct experience on LEO satellite component development, design
