It is also of paramount importance to us that we continue to foster an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion as we build a school community of individuals who are an actual representation of the world in which we live.POSITION OVERVIEWWe are currently seeking a dynamic and passionate History & Geography Teacher, teaching in French, to join our Upper School community to cover a maternity leave, starting in late October 2025 through early March 2026 with the possibility of additional time. This position is specifically for teaching History & Geography in French, and the candidate must be proficient or fluent in French.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement engaging lessons for students, incorporating a variety of teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity, self-expression, and a love for science among students.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress through regular observations and feedback.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' development and progress.
  • Attend regular meetings as needed
  • Successfully complete other professional responsibilities as assigned by the Upper School Principals
  • Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of autonomy, self-esteem, and self-discipline
  • Establish a positive relationship with all members of our school communitySKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant experience.
    • Teaching certification or licensure in Science preferable.
    • Experience teaching History & Geography to students in the specified grade range.
    • Proficiency or fluency in French, with the ability to instruct and communicate effectively in both French and English.
    • Strong knowledge of theory and instruction.
    • Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire students through creative and innovative teaching methods.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
    • Strong organizational skills to plan and execute units of learning.
    • Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that addresses the diverse needs of students.
